Ragged Sky Press launches new book Oct. 11-13

Ellen, Arlene, Ruth and I are proud to announce the publication of a new Ragged Sky Press poetry collection:

Intimate Geography, by San Diego-based poet Ishmael von Heidrick-Barnes.

"Precariously positioned between blades or floating ecstatically, enigmatically, between mirrors, found in the operating theater or a Babylonian brick, the bounties or the bankruptcy of the human spirit, Heidrick-Barnes' poetry offers the challenge to continue changing the lens with which we see the world. These poems are a gift of sharply focused insights and deep compassion."
Shadab Zeest Hashmi, author of Baker of Tarifa

A native of San Diego, Heidrick-Barnes has co-edited the Magee Park Poets anthology, written lyrics for European opera singer Andrea Hörkens and musician Thomas Roderburg, and has worked as a visual artist. On the East Coast, he will be joined by Arab-American poet Sam Hamod, a nominee for the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry, who has published 10 books and appeared in more than 200 anthologies of literature worldwide. They will also be accompanied by Hörkens and Roderburg who form the musical duo, Tender Art.
