ELIJAH M. BROWN FEATURING 10/16 in RUTHERFORD

Dear Family & Friends,
It was a wonderful celebration last night as the Red Wheelbarrow Poets presented volume 5 of The Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow by the contributors.  Managing Editor Mark Fogarty read William Carlos Williams's "The Great Figure" ("I saw the figure 5 in gold") in the introductory Williams portion to celebrate the fifth volume of the annual journal and gave a little bit of background on the production of the volume itself.
I continue to host this excellent series, which continues into its seventh year, so please come by for this upcoming reading.  Mark your calendars now!
NOTE that this series is usually held on FIRST Wednesdays each month.  In October 2012 it will be held on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2012 because of scheduling difficulties.
The WCW Poetry Cooperative of Southern Bergen County is pleased to invite the poet, educator, and community advocate Elijah M. Brown as the feature on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 7:00 p. m.  As usual this monthly program will also feature the words of William Carlos Williams.  We conclude with open readings from the floor.  No advanced registration is required and all poets and poetry lovers are invited.  We hold the WCW Poetry Cooperative readings in the upstairs Terrace of Williams Center for the Arts (www.williamscenter.org) located at 1 Williams Plaza in Rutherford, N. J.
For more details, please see the program flyer attached to this message as a Word document.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE RED WHEELBARROW POETS
Also, please remember that noted poet Jim Klein leads our peer-to-peer poetry workshops (Red Wheelbarrow Poets).
The workshop has a new Wednesday meeting room at the Municipal Building/Borough Hall in Rutherford, NJ (176 Park Ave., Rutherford, NJ), which is handicap accessible.  The workshop meets there on the 3rd and 4th Wednesdays of every month from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m.  The meeting room is the "Blue" room located on the second floor.
Please bring 10 to 12 copies of the poem(s) you wish to be workshopped.  The poets pass the poems out; everyone reads his/her poem(s), and then the poets discuss them. Jim Klein is our teacher/workshop moderator.  No dues or rules.
If you have any questions, please contact John Barrale by e-mail (john.barrale@gmail.com).  Please do not contact Borough Hall
Also, please see the Red Wheelbarrow website here:
Mark Fogarty hosts a monthly reading and music series for the Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow Poets usually on fourth Fridays of the month at 7 p. m. at GainVille Learning Center and Café (http://www.gaincontact.com).

The cover of $6 includes coffee/tea and dessert.
For Friday, September 28, 2012 the poetry feature is Claudia Serea, the featured poet in volume 5 of The Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow and the author of a new book of poems.  The musical feature is TBA.  Open reading follows.
Remember too that the Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow Poets recently published volume 5 of The Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow, including five poems of mine, those of many others associated with the WCW Poetry Cooperative and literary life in Rutherford, some excellent essays, and reflections on Dr. Williams.  Copies of the anthology are on sale now, so please contact the editors at redwheelbarrowpoets@yahoo.com, if you would like more information or like to purchase a copy or two.  They make excellent birthday or holiday gifts for poetry lovers and anyone who loves literature and history.
Please come out and support these creative endeavors.
Thank you.
Love & Peace,
JOHN TRAUSE
