Daniela Gioseffi and George Guida, 2/2

The Montclair Public Library's monthly program "An Evening of Poetry" meets this Thursday, February 2nd at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. The address is 50 South Fullerton Avenue, Montclair, NJ. Coordinated by award-winning poets Laura Boss and Maria Mazziotti Gillan, this month's featured poets are Daniela Gioseffi and George Guida The event is free and an open reading follows the featured readers.

George Guida has published two collections of poems: Low Italian (Bordighera Press, 2006) and New York and Other Lovers(Smalls Books, 2008). His short story collection, The Pope Stories and Other Tales of Troubled Times (Bordighera, 2012) is forthcoming. His poem "Assessment" was runner-up for the 2011 Vella Poetry Prize. In addition to writing, George serves as Poetry Editor of 2 Bridges Review, and teaches writing and literature at New York City College of Technology.
Daniela Gioseffi is an American Book Award-winning author. She has 14 books of poetry and prose. Her latest books are: Wild Nights, Wild Nights: The Story of Emily Dickinson’s Master (2010)and Blood Autumn: New & Selected Poems (2007). She has won two grants in poetry from the NY State Council for the Arts; a NY State OSIA Literary Award; the John Ciardi Award for Lifetime Achievement in Poetry, and a PEN Short Fiction Award. She has presented her work on NPR and the BBC.  Daniela is editor of www.PoetsUSA.com. Her work has appeared in The Paris Review,VIA, The Nation, Prairie Schooner, The Paterson Literary Review, Poetry East, and in many major press anthologies. She has taught literature and creative writing at NYU, Brooklyn College, CUNY, Pace University. and The School of Visual Arts, as well as for Poets-in-the-Schools, Inc. for over 35 years.
