William Carlos Williams Poetry Symposium

This year's William Carlos Williams Poetry Syposium (WCWPS) celebrates the 125th birthday of Edgar I. Williams — architect, artist, and brother of poet WCW — with presentations on WCW and EIW growing up in Rutherford (with accompanying bus tour), and EIW's professional life after college. WCW "place" poems will be read against photographic projections of the sites.

A family panel shares memories and their collections of EIW's fine art and architectural drawings. Scholar Andrew Krivak ("Letters of WCW to EIW, 1902-1912") discusses the brothers' close and competitive relationship.

Evening program is a production of WCW drawing room skits by, plus dramatic reading of their letters.

The symposium focuses on writer's craft, performance art, and architecture. This is a great opportunity to learn more about William Carlos Williams' contribution to art and poetry.
