Author claims Winfrey published his poetry under her name and sold 650 million copies online. Six hundred fifty million copies of a poetry book? At $20 per download? In a country where the Poet Laureate needs a retirement check or to keep his/her day job?

Oprah Winfrey and her production company Harpo Inc have been sued for more than one trillion dollars by a poet after he claimed that she passed off his work as her own.
In a suit filed at the District of Columbia Court on July 31, Damon Lloyd Goffe accuses the talkshow host of copying his book A Tome of Poetry in a work she published on the internet titled Pieces of my Soul.
The writer claimed that Winfrey confessed to "seizing original works of authorship" in 2008. The website no longer exists, but Goffe alleges that he is now owed $1.2 trillion (£0.7 trillion) because the media mogul sold 650 million co pies of the piece for $20 (£12) each.
